About the event
From a yarn spun on the humble charkha to a fabric of nationalism, the journey of both the charkha and Khadi have been synonymous with the Indian freedom struggle.
Khadi, woven with the threads of Swaraj, became a fabric of Indian independence, as both a symbol of India's potential economic self-sufficiency and a medium for communicating to the British the dignity of poverty and the equality of Indian civilization.
If Swadeshi was the soul of swaraj, and its essence was Khadi.
